The first service available in Semble will be contactless payments. From there, more services will be added to Semble, many of which will also have an impact on your business – for example gift and loyalty cards and vouchers.
Many merchants are already using contactless payment terminals. The good news is that if you are one of these merchants, you are ready to accept Semble customers from day one provided the contactless feature on your terminal is switched on.
If you do not have a contactless payment terminal, please speak to your terminal provider to arrange an upgrade. Your terminal provider's information should be located on a sticker on the terminal itself.
If you already have a contactless terminal but do not have the contactless feature switched on, please speak to your bank.
The introduction of Semble has an impact on your business, so we ask that you familiarise yourselves and your staff with how Semble works.
Semble is an alternative to the plastic cards that you find in your wallet today. For merchants, all this means is that instead of handing over a plastic bank card, your customers will be using their phones to make purchases. Customers paying with Semble will have loaded virtual bank cards into the app, and once they hold their phone against the payment terminal, the rest of the transaction is exactly the same as it is today.
