FAQs

Welcome to the Semble FAQs. We'll be updating this section frequently so check back with us regularly for Semble updates.

Semble is owned and operated by TSM NZ Limited, a collaboration between Paymark (owned by ASB, ANZ, BNZ and Westpac), 2degrees, Spark and Vodafone.

The mobile network providers provide an important aspect of Semble ecosystem - the secure element hosted in the SIM. Having all three NZ mobile network providers involved in Semble means that Semble will be available to all Kiwis. Should you require assistance with Semble, the mobile network providers will be your first level of customer support. Semble is a standalone entity that is governed by its own board of directors, management team and rules. We are committed to providing open access to our infrastructure to any service provider, and having all three mobile network providers involved means that for the first time service providers have a single point of entry into the entire mobile channel. This makes it easier and more cost effective to reach out to the whole consumer market without worrying about which network customers are on.  It will also allow service providers to compete on customer service propositions rather than infrastructure.

Paymark is New Zealand’s leading payments provider with over 25 years’ experience in keeping electronic payments of all types safe and secure. Paymark’s role is to ensure that the NFC mobile phone technology works with all New Zealand payment terminals, initially for payments and eventually for other services such as loyalty and coupons/vouchers that may be associated during point of sale.
