From today, Kiwis can enjoy the convenience of using public transport with only their smartphone, thanks to the addition of Snapper to the Semble mobile wallet app.

Launched in March this year, Semble now boasts two service categories including payments and public transport. Thousands of customers who are already using Semble to make everyday payments with their phones can now use their phone to pay for public transport services wherever the Snapper symbol is displayed.

What's  been happening inside the Semble camp? It’s been around 7 weeks since we launched payments in Semble with our Mobile and Banking partners. We’ve now got several thousand customers demonstrating their Semble styles at contactless payment terminals around the country.

Kiwi ingenuity, hard work and determination have paid off today as Semble, New Zealand’s first mobile wallet, launched nationally.

From today, close to one million smartphone users around the country will be able to download the free Semble app to make secure payments using only their smartphone.

Representing a breakthrough industry collaboration, Semble brings together mobile network operators (2degrees, Spark and Vodafone) with banking partners (ASB and BNZ) and payments network Paymark to offer the first ever integrated mobile wallet to New Zealanders.
