Semble is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993. Please take a moment to read this Privacy Policy in conjunction with the Semble App Terms and Conditions and Website Terms and Conditions.
This Privacy Policy applies to anyone who downloads the Semble App (“user”), anyone who visits the Semble website and any former user.
In this Privacy Policy
"you” means you, the person who downloads the Semble Application (referred to as the Semble App) or visits our website
“we” “our” “us” means TSM NZ Limited trading as Semble
“Aggregated Information” means information relating to a group of users which does not identify an individual
“Personal Information” means any information which does or is capable of identifying an individual and which is not publicly available information
“Service Provider” means a bank or other service provider which hosts services in the Semble App
The Semble App
Semble has developed a mobile app for Android smartphones which utilises near-field communication (NFC) to enable you to make purchases using your phone. You will also be able to load other services onto the Semble App such as loyalty, transport and gift vouchers.
Information we collect from you
We collect information about you, and your interactions with us, when you activate or use the Semble App or visit the Semble website.
We collect the following types of information, including Personal Information:
At activation of the Semble App
• We collect information you provide, including your name, email address, age range, gender, location
• We collect information we receive from your mobile device, including your mobile device type, mobile number and the serial number of your Semble Ready SIM
When you use the Semble App
• We collect information when you choose to load a service (for example your bank credit card) in the Semble App
• We collect aggregated information about how the Semble App is used (using analytics, as described in the “Use of cookies and analytics” section below)
• We do not view or collect Personal Information about your transactions (for example we cannot view your credit or debit card number or your bank account details and we cannot identify what purchases you have made)
When you visit the Semble website
• We may collect information you provide, including your name or email address, your mobile network operator, mobile phone type and who you bank with
• We collect aggregated information about the use of the Semble website (using web forms or cookies and analytics, as described in the “Use of cookies and analytics” section below)
Aggregated Information
Service Providers may provide us with Aggregated Information about the use of their services in the Semble App in order for us to administer, maintain, or improve the Semble App.
We may also share Aggregated Information (but not your Personal Information) with third parties for purposes such as performing data analysis for the purpose of developing and improving the Semble App and our website.
How we use your information
We collect and use Personal Information about you so that we can:
• provide customer support
• keep you informed about Semble
• prevent, detect and investigate security threats, fraud or any other malicious activity
We collect and use Aggregated Information about you so that we can:
• improve the Semble App
• administer and maintain the Semble App
• identify appropriate audiences for offers of products and/or services
From time to time we may send you product announcements by email. You can opt-out of receiving these types of communications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email. Even if you opt-out, we will still need to send you essential information about the Semble App.
When you contact your mobile service provider for assistance with the Semble App, your mobile service provider has the ability to reset your Semble App password using your security question answer. Neither your mobile service provider nor Semble has the ability to view your password.
Sharing of Personal Information with third parties
We require that third parties who perform services for us or on our behalf and our agents (such as your mobile service provider providing customer support) maintain appropriate safeguards to protect the security and the confidentiality of the Personal Information we provide them. We also require them to limit their use of Personal Information to customer support services.
We may also share your information, including Personal Information, with certain third parties as necessary to:
• to conform to legal requirements (including, but not limited to, requirements in accordance with any applicable law, regulation or government request)
• protect our rights
• enforce this Privacy Policy
Use of cookies and analytics
Like many websites, we may use web analytics services. Such services use “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help us analyse how you use our site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our website (including your IP address) may be transmitted to and stored on servers belonging to the companies providing the analytic services. These companies will use this information to evaluate your use of our website, and to compile reports for Semble on the site’s activity (for example, number of visitors to our site, how long they spend on the site when they visit and their geographical location). They may also transfer this information to their agents or where required to do so by law. The companies providing the web analytic services will not associate your IP address with any other data they hold. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you as set out above.
Storage and security of your Personal Information
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that all Personal Information collected is secure and protected against misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Your Personal Information may be transferred to other countries for processing, storage or other necessary activities and by providing your Personal Information to us you consent to the transfer of that information to our agents who are located outside of New Zealand for that purpose. If we transfer your Personal Information outside of New Zealand this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy continues to be protected in a manner which is consistent with New Zealand privacy law. All information about you stored by our agents will also be subject to contractual obligations of confidentiality.
Links to third-party websites
The Semble website may contain links to third-party websites, products and services.
Information you provide to third parties in connection with your use of the Semble App, or when you follow a link from the Semble web-site to a third-party website, is not covered by this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review and understand the privacy policy of any third-party you provide Personal Information to.
Access and Correction
You can access Personal Information that we hold about you by contacting us in writing. If the information is inaccurate, incomplete or not up to date you may ask us to correct the information.
It is our policy to immediately remove you from our mailing list upon your request.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may change the terms of this Privacy Policy at any time. We will let you know if we do this by posting the new policy on our website.
