FAQs

Got a question about Semble? You’ll likely find the answer here. We’ll be updating and adding more answers as we go, so check back regularly.

'Always On' is an optional setting that allows you to pre-select a deafult bank card in Semble to pay with all the time. It means you don’t have to open Semble to pay, or even have your phone turned on.
Set it up by tapping the 'More actions' link of your chosen card and moving the slider to Always On.

No, the Always On feature is optional. You can select a card to be Always On by tapping 'More actions'. Always On is set to 'off' by default.

That’s easy – open Semble and select the Pay button for the bank card you wish to pay with. Semble will temporarily disable the Always On card so that you can pay with your chosen card. After you have finished making your purchase, Semble will automatically re-enable your Always On card.

To use Snapper in Semble, you don't have to select the card each time or even have your phone turned on. By simply presenting the back of your phone to the Snapper reader it will choose the Snapper card to pay with.

The Always On feature has the same level of security that your plastic bank cards have today. As with your plastic cards, any fraudulent transactions made via Semble will be covered by your bank's policy relating to zero liability for customers. Please speak to your bank for more information.

Card details are stored in the secure element in the Semble SIM, not within Semble (the app). So, if you sell your phone without the SIM, the person now using your phone will not have access to any of your Semble services including the Always On bank card feature.

If Always On isn’t working:

1.    Check that you have a bank card showing as set to Always On (it will have an orange “Always On” tag on the picture of the card)
2.    Check that NFC is enabled on your phone
3.    Try turning Always On for your card off and on again. Choose the card, select “More actions”, turn on the Always On slider from off to on.
