Got a question about Semble? You’ll likely find the answer here. We’ll be updating and adding more answers as we go, so check back regularly.

Contactless Visa and MasterCard will be the first cards that can be used in Semble. Merchants are required to have a contactless payment terminal (with the contactless feature enabled) to be able to accept payments via Semble.

You’ll need to speak to your payment terminal provider (their information can usually be found on a sticker on your terminal).

There will not be a charge from Semble, however you should speak to your bank to discuss any charges related to accepting contactless payments.

Yes. Semble works on the entire New Zealand payments network with both Paymark and EFTPOS New Zealand. Semble works wherever contactless payments are accepted.

Semble works with the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 on the majority of contactless terminals around the country and for tagging on and off participating Snapper buses but is currently working intermittently on PAX SP30, S80, and S90 contactless terminals. PAX are working on resolving this issue but if you’re an Ace 3 user we recommend you keep your eye on the terminal type and keep your plastic card with you as back up.
